It Was the best of Times, It Was the Worst of Times…

Abbey Robinson

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair."

-Charles Dickens, A Tale of Two Cities

I've had this on my mind a lot. This might not but the worst of times, but it's definitely weird! Contrasting all that has happened this year...the ongoing uncertainty, confusion...and yet I continue to see the love of God and his mercy extended to me daily. He is here, in our "NOW." Our circumstances are not shocking to Him. How comforting is that?! It's not TOO MUCH for Him. He is in charge of the timing and EVERYTHING! It will all work out. I'm so thankful for a God who is powerful enough to change it all, and I'm trying to trust that when He doesn't change things, and I can't...that it's for the best because He loves me. I believe this because I have felt that power in my life, fixing mistakes I've made, giving me new reasons to hope, changing my perspective, changing my HEART, comforting me in dark times, blessing me with angels who help me along my way, showing me truth & light. I'm so thankful for His constancy and wisdom, and the joy He provides even at times of struggle...(the goodness of people around me, and the beauty that surrounds us everywhere!). Yes, this is a crazy time we are living in! Our faith is essential. However, what I am learning is we have great cause to believe that it will all work out, because God is good.
