Choices

I love everything about this magical time of year! I love the pretty lights, fragrant smells, yummy treats, and family traditions. I am pretty sure that there is nothing better than watching Hallmark Christmas movies or Mr. Krueger’s Christmas, with my favorite candle burning, enjoying my new heated blanket (it is life changing), while sitting next to the Christmas tree. The best part of Christmas, is the opportunity that I have, at the end of each year, to reflect on my own life and to celebrate the birth of the Savior. His perfect example, and life of love and service, shows each of us the way to true happiness. The atonement of Jesus Christ is the best gift anyone could give!
Recently, Jason and I have been talking a lot about choices. Choices are everything. In fact, look at your life, look at your choices. We truly are the product of the choices we make!
This past year has been one for the history books! The global pandemic has changed each of our lives. As a mother and teacher, my life has definitely changed over the past 10 months. While everything about COVID is tricky, I have chosen to think positively during this time. Honestly, because of my choices, I am still happy!
My family now has greater appreciation for so many things: Going to school, going to church, going to soccer practice/games, dance practices, performances, competitions, hanging out with our friends, Disneyland, vacationing, THE ARTS (oh how we miss concerts, movies in the theatre, and plays).
We have discovered what matters most… FAMILY and our faith in Jesus Christ!
I am so happy with many of the choices that I have made in my life. I have been blessed because of them. I have a lot to work on, but I make a choice each day to try and be happy and positive no matter what comes my way...
This past weekend I read the book, Christ in Every Hour, by Anthony Sweat. This is a fabulous book that I would highly recommend to all of you! Go read it and then let’s get a book group together to discuss it!
Merry Christmas! There is so much to be grateful for!
Love,
Kristin Kukahiko
