Dear Friends,

As you know, there has been a lot of talk about COVID again as we have seen spikes in cases these last few weeks. Like many of you, I’ve been told to work from home for the next few weeks and our children have moved temporarily to online learning. In addition, our Ward Council has had multiple discussions around keeping our ward safe while also providing an environment in which we can all strengthen each other spiritually and worship together.

In light of everything that is happening these days, I want to personally encourage each individual and family to make the decision that is right for them regarding attending church in person. We will continue to hold our meetings in person on Sundays (both hours) and encourage you to attend only if you feel safe and comfortable doing so. Our broadcast of sacrament meeting will continue and families are still authorized to administer the sacrament in their home. Please do not let your feelings of obligation to attend outweigh your personal feelings on protecting yourself and your family from the virus.

For those who choose to attend with us, please know that you can opt out of second hour if you feel that the smaller rooms present more of a risk of infection. I would also encourage those of you who do attend with us to wear a mask. I know that all of us have our own opinions about the usefulness of masks. However, with COVID, flu, strep throat and colds all on the rise, we should do all we can to keep ourselves and our friends safe while we are together.

Thank you for all that you do to live your lives as disciples of Jesus Christ. I pray that we can all work to see His hand in our lives and learn new lessons about being disciples as we go through this unprecedented journey through this pandemic.
